Tag/Alias Discussion
Ok, seeing as tagging is soon going to be a problem, we need to come up with some standard tag formats.

First obvious one is 'never tag with plurals', tag 'female' instead of 'females', 'mech' instead of 'mechs', and so on.

So far, I've been tagging all my gundam-related posts with the tag 'gundam_(series)'. Should we do that for all stuff?

And another thing, what tags should we use for the colors of mecha? I'm thinking red_paintjob, blue_paintjob and so-on.

Of course, none of this is set in stone yet, so thoughts?

Also, please remember to suggest tag aliases with the 'Alias' link at the top!

Sure. I've done the same for Double Zeta as well "zz_gundam_(series)" as the case may be. The tag for the Gundam itself could be "rx-78-2" and "zz_gundam" for that Gundam.

If you feel such a tag is needed, than I would agree it would work that way.

I think setting up tag types should be done fairly soon if possible.

I'd say that the tags 'zz_gundam' and 'gundam_double_zeta' should alias to 'zz_gundam_(series)', while the unit number should alias to 'zz_gundam_(mecha)'.

We do need more descriptive tags, at the moment pics are getting 'tagme' added automatically because they only have the series name and mecha name. It also makes looking for a mecha you don't know the name of easier.

On second thought, gundam_(series) isn't a good idea. "mobile_suit_gundam" to refer to the original Gundam series/movies is a better choice.

I put 'gundam_0079' on there, as well as 'gundam_(series)'. I was going to use 'gundam_(series)' for anything gundam related, such as G, Wing, 00, etc, but it's probably be better just to put the show names instead

Any way to get a tab for a tag list?

I'll have a go at bugging the guys on the booru.org main forums, but it's probably a feature from a later booru version that they can't implement yet, like the colored tags

How should we be tagging character names, by the way? I've been using the western naming order.

Tag: (What you search for...) ----> Alias: (What it should be...)
hagane ----> hagwane
thrudgelmir ----> sladegelmir

No. Just, no.

Same for yuusha_oh_gaogaigar ----> gaogaigar
One is the name of the show, the other is the name of the main mecha in the show. One should not lead to the other.

I don't know what's wrong with the first two, but I approved them. Should I change them?

Also, yeah, rejected that gaogaigar one, and approved some much more sensible ones. Use gaogaigar_(mecha) when talking about gaogaigar itself, as just gaogaigar redirects to the show name.

Hagane --> Japanese name
Hagwane --> English Official name

Thrudgelmir --> what srw's fan think it should be
Sladgelmir --> English official name

Yes. There are official english spellings given in the localizations of OG1 and 2. There is no need for fan spellings. Hiryu Custom and Lune Zoldark are also the English official spellings so those should also be what the fan spellings alias to. The anon poster between this one and yours has it backwards on purpose to mess with you and attempt to piss me off.

Engrish =/= official spellings. Only there are those crappy spellings used. The official Atlus localizations (which were given to them by Banpresto I might add) make far more sense and even the fans used them long before those books were made.
